This is an in office position, which would require 5 days a week in the CodeHS Chicago office at 747 N LaSalle in River North.

Marketing Manager Job Description

CodeHS is looking for a Marketing Manager to help grow CodeHS and spread computer science education to more students and schools. The primary responsibility will be managing and supporting marketing initiatives. 

Responsibilities

  • Increasing CodeHS brand awareness and recognition in the education space.
  • Collaborating with other departments, such as sales, engineering, curriculum, and customer success, to align marketing efforts with overall company goals.
  • Planning and executing new product launches, including market positioning and messaging across the platform and marketing channelsImplementing strategies to engage with potential customers or leads.
  • Developing customer engagement and retention strategies
  • Analyzing marketing data and metrics to assess campaign effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
  • Building PR relationships and managing press releases.
  • Ensuring consistent brand messaging and image across all marketing materials and channels.
    Creating new marketing materials and customer resources for sales outreach, partnerships, events, and more
  • Developing and executing email campaigns (Intercom, MailChimp, Mailjet)
  • Supporting with the management and creation of social media content
  • Capturing powerful customer stories through written case studies and video content  
  • Working closely with engineering and design to maintain CodeHS marketing pages
  • Driving registrations and interest for PD workshops and other events
  • Writing educational and thought-leader pieces of blog content to support larger initiatives
  • Building new ways to engage with teachers on and off the CodeHS platform

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a marketing manager or similar role

  • 3+ years writing and executing email marketing campaigns

  • Proficiency in marketing software and tools, including CRM systems and analytics platforms

  • Excellent in writing short and long-form content, including blogs, PDFs, whitepapers, social posts, emails

  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to make informed marketing decisions

  • Experience working with engineering and designers to optimize and manage marketing assets including company website

  • Experience with HTML/CSS is a plus!

  • Experience in Canva or other design platforms

  • Eye for design and following brand standards (aka making collateral pretty!)

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent cross-team collaboration skills

  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving abilities

  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented

  • Work well independently and autonomously, a self-starter

  • Energized by working with educators to capture their stories and classrooms

  • Experience with edtech / education is a big bonus! 

  • No coding experience is required, you should have an interest in learning.
