Director of Operations Job Description

CodeHS is looking for an Director of Operations to help manage company operations CodeHS. This position will report to the CEO and will be on the company leadership team. Initially we are working remotely due to COVID-19, but once safe this position will be in the Chicago office at 747 N LaSalle. 


  • Manage payroll
  • Manage commissions
  • Review and manage contract data
  • Manage, review, and negotiate contracts with schools and districts
  • Manage and review privacy agreements with districts
  • Work with lawyers on contracts as needed
  • Manage cap table and options
  • Manage business insurance
  • Manage health insurance
  • Office leases
  • Company level data and reporting 
  • Help streamline company processes
  • People manager on operations team 


  • Passionate about improving access to quality education

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Extremely organized and detail oriented

  • Interest in personally learning more about coding, prior experience a plus

  • Prior operations experience required 

  • Prior experience working on contracts from a business perspective

  • Familiar with a wide range of software tools, and quick to learn new tools
